Drawlloween, Part VI

Day 22 was Candy and I was inspired by both Tim Burton and Candyland with this one. If I had more time, this would have gotten way more detailed.

Day 23 was Gore and I let my dark humor out. I also played around with my pens, nibs, and inks.

Day 24 was skeleton. I had something else in mind but it wasn't turning out. In frustration, I quickly sketched Jack Skellington. I collect Nightmare Before Christmas things, Jack coffee mugs in particular, so I had plenty of models around.

Day 25 is Mummy. Now being a total Whovian- that's a Doctor Who nerd for those who don't speak geek- I immediately thought of The Empty Child episode.

That brings the drawings to today. I’ll go back to a somewhat normal post and throw up the rest of the drawings at the end of the month/beginning of next month! 🙂

Drawlloween, Part V

Day 18 was Mask so I drew a steampunk-ish Plague Doctor. I didn't want to color him in too much because I didn't want to lose the details.

Day 19 was the Creature from the Black Lagoon. I really wasn't looking forward to drawing this guy because he just didn't look scary but I think he turned out well, nevertheless. I used Sharpies with him.

Day 20 was Skull. I was feeling kind of hellish that day so I did a quick Memento Mori sketch.

Day 21 was 8-Bit Zombie. This was more of a pain than doing werewolf. I had to draw my own graph. Such a pain!

Drawlloween, Part IV

I have to say that drawing has been a good form of meditation for me. It has helped me relax a lot better than any other form of meditation has. The only thing I would do differently, perhaps, is maybe only working on a drawing for an hour or so a day rather than having to complete a drawing a day. The prompts have been really helpful though because they forced me to draw things I wouldn’t normally draw and got me over my artist’s block.

Day 14 was bat and I went a little whimsical here. Brought in a little Alice In Wonderland.

Day 15 was amulet so I drew a hamsa. I'm a bit obsessed with them.

Day 16 was grave, which I drew with micron. I almost went Doctor Who weeping angel with it, but I decided to behave.

Day 17 was demon and this is what I dreamed up. Literally. I had a dream about her. Done in pen and ink.

Drawlloween, Part III

Day 10 was Alien. I was bummed that the cheap colored pencils I have weren't blending so well.

Day 11 was Raven. I loved doing this one even if filling in the body was a bit tedious. Done in micron.

Day 12 was Moon. I almost drew a Tarot card, because that's more my thing, but this came out instead. A steampunk moon.

Day 13 was Frankenstein. I kind of wanted to draw Peter Boyle from Young Frankenstein because I love that movie, but I wasn't sure how many would get it. So I stuck with old Boris here.

Day 5 was Werewolf. Yeah, I know, I took the easy way out. I can't draw werewolves.

Day 6 was Pumpkin. This one was quick and easy. Done in Paper by 53.

Day 7 was Haunted House. I went with an Edward Gorey kind of vibe here. That is until I became impatient and my hand started cramping and I just rushed to finish it already.

Day 8 was Zombie. I found out that I really like drawing zombies. Go figure!

Day 9 was Eyeball. I almost unleashed my full on nerd past by drawing a Beholder. Yes, that's a D&D- Dungeons & Dragons to you, newbs- monster. I lead a sad existence.
